Episode 245 is a perfect picnic of GenX nostalgia as Memorial Day Weekend approaches.

We kick, spin, and awkwardly lean to one side as we look back at Michael Jackson's Moonwalker. A feature-length film and video game, this project came out at the peak of Jackson's fame. How were these received? We will dive deep into both.

A decade is a long time. So much can change in that span. In a new segment on the podcast, we are going to compare and contrast a decade from the first day to the last day. It will be the 1990s, how they started compared to how they ended. Music, television, fashion, pop culture trends, technology, and more. We will look at it all.

It is the return of Me v AI Top 5. The sixth installment is a look at some bad movies with great soundtracks. These were films that were critically and/or commercially panned, yet the music was worth listening to. As always, ChatGPT's list is read out by beloved early 2000s malware program Bonzi Buddy.

We start with a rise and fall for the ages. Imagine going from on top of the world to being dropped by your record label in an instant. That is what happened to the pop duo Milli Vanilli 35 years ago this week. In one of the most infamous scandals in music history, a chart-topping group was exposed as frauds and ostracized from the industry. We do a deep dive into the unbelievable but true story of Milli Vanilli.

40 years ago this week a new comic strip debuted and changed the way people viewed them. Calvin and Hobbes brought insight and thought-provoking conversations to the typically simple world of newspaper comics. A little boy and his stuffed tiger burst onto the scene, made an immense impact, and then retreated into history, all within the span of a decade. It's a 40th anniversary celebration of the beloved comic strip this week.

Me v. AI Top 5 returns with a bang and maybe some funky dance moves. I battle ChatGPT over the best 1970s movie soundtracks while a pair of computer programs battle over who gets to read the AI answers.

There is a brand new This Week In History and Time Capsule, where we look back at the creation of the beloved teddy bear.

In My Footsteps Podcast Episode 206: King of the Hill, Driver's Education In School, Best 80s Movie Soundtracks, the Life of Jerry Garcia(8-6-2025)

Episode 206 is loaded with Gen-X nostalgia to help you cope with the dog days of summer.

It kicks off with an in-depth look at one of the most underrated yet renowned animated shows. King of the Hill graced the airways for 13 seasons with a mix of humor and heart. Now it is making its return after 15 years to Hulu. We will look at what made the show so beloved and why it is deserving of its reboot.

Getting your driver's license is a rite of passage for teenagers. How we got to that point depends on when you grew up. Most likely, it included some form of driver's education. We'll go back in the day for some of the history of driver's ed, along with a few embarrassing stories from my own journey to becoming a licensed driver.

The 1980s were the decade when movie soundtracks became every bit as important as the movies themselves. Sometimes more important. On this week's Top 5 we look at some of the best 1980s movie soundtracks. Did you have any of them in your vinyl collection?
