This is my first blog and I am going to use it to give you, the reader, a sort of an introduction to myself and my work. My name is Christopher Setterlund, I live on Cape Cod, and I am an author. I have been writing for almost twelve years but only recently have I decided to share my writing with the world. Every title that is described in this blog is available at my own personal website http://christophersetterlund.com/, I am also featured on Amazon.com in the Kindle section, as well as the Google Base shopping page.
At first, I wrote poetry and song lyrics, many of which you can find in my book Postcards From My Mind. Eventually, I moved on to short stories and novels. My first short story was an intense thriller entitled Eight Hours in which the main character, unhappy with the way his life has turned out, drives the interstate in search of a police officer to goad into shooting him. It is called 'suicide by cop.' This story, along with two others: Dreamality, and Cross Country, are found in my first short story collection entitled One Sitters, Volume 1.
After completing a couple of short stories I took on my greatest challenge to date, a full length novel called Second Coming. It is based in New York City and centers around an NYPD cop saddled with trying to find and stop a vicious serial killer targeting only Jewish people. When the killer begins leaving cryptic German messages on the victim's walls it becomes apparent that there is more than just blood lust on this killer's mind.
Most recently I just finished and published a short story entitled The Cabin. An overly-stressed man from the city travels into Northern Canada seeking peace and relaxation on a vacation in an area over 40 miles from civilization. During his trip he is terrorized by some sort of mysterious beast. What is there to do when there is nobody for miles to come to your aide?
For those of you who enjoy photography I have a book called Footsteps. Using Photoshop I have edited together some fantastic photographs along with my original poetry, they each are works of art in and of themselves.
I would love to hear from you if anybody has any questions or comments. If you have any advice or suggestions on how to gain publicity and exposure for my fledgling website that is most welcome also.
I will try my best to post more blogs and share more of my writing on here for you to sample. Thanks for reading!
