It is an anniversary and a birthday all together in one celebratory podcast!
Episode 267 celebrates the podcast's 6th anniversary and the birthday week of the podcast host, me.
The party starts with a look at the history of 8-Track tapes. Their heyday was during the 1970s. Though they never reached the popularity of vinyl before, or audio cassettes after, they still provided a wealth of memories for those of a certain age. We will look at their creation, impact, and legacy.
Early mornings, television, cereal, all of these combined to make Saturday the favorite of many GenX kids. The linchpin for those weekend mornings was Saturday morning cartoons. If you grew up during the 1970s and 1980s, you likely spent most Saturday mornings parked in front of the TV watching your favorite shows before being kicked outside to enjoy the day. I'll give you the history; you can provide your own cereal.
They can't all be winners. This week's Top 5 looks at some of the worst fast food promotions ever. Underestimating the customer, overestimating the customer, money-losing, riot-inducing, accident-causing, and much more. These are the creme de la creme of terrible ideas.
There is a special new This Week In History and Time Capsule looking back at the fascinating 'true' story of Marty McFly's journey to the past and then back to the future.
