In My Footsteps Podcast. Hidden Track #3 - The Telephone Booth

Donate to the GoFundMe for my feature-length film, The Cabin!

Welcome to the third Hidden Track Podcast!

The third podcast is a deep dive into something we older generations saw plenty of and never thought would become relics of the past: the telephone booth. From two million booths in 1999 in the United States to fewer than 100,000 today, the telephone booth is a piece of Americana that is quickly fading away. On this new podcast, we look at the history of the phone booth and why these simple pieces of architecture evoke such a strong feeling of nostalgia in those 40 and older.

These are short-form shows, clocking in at roughly 10-15 minutes. They will cover a topic or two, likely previously covered on the In My Footsteps Podcast. These are subjects that were part of Top 5's or other list-form segments and deserve a more in-depth look.

Enjoy this little podcast snack, and also cast your mind back to the last time you used a telephone booth. If you are curious where the nearest phone booth is to you, check out Payphone-Project.com

In My Footsteps Podcast. Hidden Track #2: Gilbert Atomic Energy Lab

Welcome to the second Hidden Track Podcast!

These are short-form shows, clocking in at roughly 10-15 minutes. They will cover a topic or two, likely previously covered on the In My Footsteps Podcast. These are subjects that were part of Top 5's or other list-form segments and deserve a more in-depth look.

The second podcast takes a look at possibly the most dangerous toy ever created. The Gilbert Atomic Energy Lab was a real thing. Released in the early 1950s, it contained real radioactive material and was marketed toward children. How was this ever greenlighted?

Enjoy this bite-sized podcast. They will be available on the first Sunday of each month going forward. For access to the shows as soon as they debut, you can become a member on Patreon.

In My Footsteps Podcast: Hidden Track #1: Isolator Helmet & TV Hat

Welcome to the debut of a new podcast!

Hidden Track is a short-form podcast. You get to the end of a CD, and after five minutes of silence, suddenly a new song starts playing. On these shows we will be taking a closer look at one or maybe two topics from the In My Footsteps Podcast archives. These are likely from Top 5's or other list segments and deserve more love.

On the premiere episode, we are going to dive deep into two pieces of odd headgear. The Isolator Helmet was meant to be a way to minimize distractions in the 1920s. The TV Hat was a way to keep all of the distractions right in front of you. Were either of them successful?

Originally debuting exclusively on Patreon, Hidden Track clocks in around 15 minutes. The shows will be available months in advance on Patreon before becoming a part of the rotation on the main podcast feed.

Enjoy this new bite-sized podcast. They will be available on the first Sunday of each month going forward. For access to the shows as soon as they debut you can become a member on Patreon.
